"Arrived in the dark - woke up in heaven"

This is a chance to stay in a romantic and tranquil cottage overlooking a secluded and beautiful 7 acre loch where it is not unusual to see ospreys or even an otter - and yet it is within an easy half-hour drive (18 miles) of Edinburgh city centre.

Loch Cottage, built during 19th century as a Gamekeeper's cottage was the original dwelling here at the head of Slipperfield Loch. Then in 1929 Slipperfield House was built attached to it but keeping the cottage as separate and self-contained with its own front door and garden. The owners Carol and Colin Kilpatrick who live in the main house extend a very warm welcome to all their guests - many of whom return time and time again to this lovely and conveniently situated place.

Loch Cottage is a 5 minutes walk from America Cottage ( sleeping up to 6) - so the two Slipperfield Cottages taken together are ideal for larger parties. See America Cottage.
