Above; The view from the Dining Room window. Most of these hills are over 3000ft, and Ben Nevis (4409ft) is behind Aonach Mor (3999ft) on the right.
Tirindrish is what everyone needs for an outdoor/indoor holiday in the Highlands (at any time of the year): a traditional building, atmosphere, great views, a sense of history and good beds, central heating and double glazing to keep the comfort levels up.
Ian Peter and Vivien MacDonald (MacDonalds have lived in these parts for generations) have completely restored their 19th century stone-built farm steading and made a self-catering holiday home with lots of character and lots of space for family or friends to stay.
Tirindrish is set well back from the road along a private drive, about half way between Loch Ness and Glencoe. This is walkers' heaven: easy access to the wild highland landscape of Moidart, Morar and Knoydart to the west and the Grampians to the east, and there are at least 20 Munros (hills over 3000ft), including Ben Nevis, within a 15 mile radius, and Craig Meagaidh National Nature Reserve a few miles up the road on Loch Laggan.
Accommodation:
Left and right; The Sitting Room rises to the whole height to the roof beams of the original barn and has a spiral staircase to a gallery and the upstairs bedrooms.
