In their house on the edge of the small village of Broughton Geraldine Gould and Martin Tod have set aside two bedrooms for bed and breakfast guests , both with private bathrooms.

The wonderful prospect from Cairn View is shown in the photograph at the top; the field in front of the house is where Geraldine keeps her horses, the line of trees conceals the Biggar Water and beyond is Ratchill Hill and Cat Cleuch Head. Further to the right is the valley of Muir Burn which finds its way into the River Tweed a couple of miles away.
You can easily walk into Broughton for a meal at the famous Laurel Bank Tea Room and Bistro which serves home made soup and scones as well as lunch and evening meals, with fine wine and beers on tap. It also has regular monthly Folk Music Nights. In fact Geraldine is a singer herself and sometimes performs here and locally.
The award winning traditional Scottish brewery of cask ales, Broughton Brewery, is a few hundred yards away.
By car: Probably the most enjoyable and interesting garden in the Scottish Borders is Dawyck Botanical Gardens a couple of miles away. Stobo Health Spa is a bit further on, and Cairn View is ideally placed for exploring the castles, historic houses and traditional towns of the Tweed Valley, the hills of the Scottish Borders, and Edinburgh which is just 45 minutes away.
