Built in l896 Diana and Vance Allen's home is in a small quiet cul-de-sac of six houses, surrounded by old walled gardens. Bed and breakfast guests often remark on how quiet it is here. Morningside, which has excellent individual shops, restaurants and an historic pub, is a pleasant 3 minute walk through the surrounding historic conservation area. From Morningside frequent buses take 10 minutes to Princes Street and Edinburgh Castle. The Allens are both keenly interested in the arts. Diana has had a career spanning Education and Public Relations while Vance is an architect and planner. Both are widely travelled and have lived in Hong Kong. Vance has lived in Canada. They both know Edinburgh well and are happy to advise guests about what to visit and good places to eat. |
