Barabhaig Cottage,
Camus Croise Bay,
Isle of Skye
Sleeps 6
Barabhaig is beautifully situated on Camus Croise Bay which lies on the south-eastern coast of Skye, 20 minutes drive south from the Skye Bridge and 15 miles north of Armadale – landing-point of the car-ferry from Mallaig and 'The Road to the Isles'. The single-track road in front of the cottage leads through the village of Camus Croise to the hamlet of Isle Ornsay (award-winning restaurant/pub) about one mile away. Detached and stone-built in the traditional way, Barabhaig looks out over the bay which blends harmoniously into the surrounding , green rocky landscape. From the garden (furniture) there are superb views across the sea to the towering hills of mainland Scotland.
This is an excellent area from which to spot otters, seals and birds. Boat trips to the Outer Isles are available from Armadale.
At Isle Ornsay (1m), the Hotel Eilean Iarmain has an award-winning restaurant and also regularly offers evenings of traditional music in the bar.
Barabhaig Cottage was restored and brought up to date a few years ago and you are sure to find in this most comfortable house a true home-from-home.
