Behind the house you can climb a thousand feet to the top of the Campsie Fells for wide open views of Loch Lomond and central Scotland.

Map of the area:
Directly from Finglen you can walk for 8 hours without encountering a road. Recommended is the walk to Earl's Seat in the Campsie Fells (2 hours there, 2 hours back) where on a clear day you may see great distances: Loch Lomond (northwards) and Arthur's Seat (in Edinburgh) and the outline of Ailsa Craig (island in the Irish Sea).
